Gel core, your choice of cap, two straps. The thigh band has silicone dots on the inside, the same grip that keeps a work sock up, so it holds your pant leg instead of sliding down it. The lower strap sits below the calf, not behind the knee, and the back of the knee is mesh so it breathes.

How we test

Every batch gets the same treatment before it ships. The knee pads do twenty deep squats over canvas pants without the band dropping below the knee, five minutes on gravel without the gel shifting, and ten washes with the dots intact.

The gloves do two hundred passes on 80-grit sandpaper without wearing through, work a phone screen straight out of the tap, and still do both after twenty washes. A batch that fails any of these doesn't ship. The footage goes up here when the first samples come in.
